Finlandia-talo
Finlandia Hall is a versatile congress and event center in the middle of Helsinki. According to its designer Alvar Aalto, architecture should be a background for what is most important, i.e. people and events. Our years-long work on Finlandia Hall’s website has always aimed to respect these Aalto’s design principles.
Challenge
In the years 2017–2023, we’ve successfully completed numerous website renovations for Finlandia Hall and provided digital marketing services from search engine optimization to social media advertising.
The transition of Finlandia Hall’s business to Pikku-Finlandia in early 2022 also posed new challenges for the website. These included the need to emphasize the offerings and services of Finlandia Hall during its renovation while also serving the needs of Pikku-Finlandia’s customers. The goal was to make Finlandia Hall more attractive to casual visitors, while maintaining its role as an inspiring and innovative venue for event organizers
Solution
We’ve incorporated user-centric and culturally appropriate design principles, honoring Alvar Aalto’s legacy, into the architecture of Finlandia Hall’s website. Throughout the website development process, our focus remained on serving both consumer and B2B customers. This led us to renew the website’s structure, enhancing navigation for clarity.
To serve the needs of event organizers, we created a separate sub-page, whose conversion paths strongly guide the booking process. Cafe and restaurant services aimed at consumers, as well as individual events, were highlighted more prominently on the website than before, in order to shape the image of Finlandia Hall from a mere provider of meeting facilities to a lively event hall.
Results
Consumers have warmly welcomed the services provided by Pikku-Finlandia, largely due to the user-friendly website. At the same time the user experience for vital B2B customers has also seen notable improvements and the substantial rise in website-generated contacts serves as a clear indication of success.
